Agency Support

At KTS Academy, we are wholly committed to 'the individual rights of the child', and aim to promote outstanding equality of opportunity.

Children across the school are fully included in all activities and school events. With the support of outside agencies, clinics and specialists, our personalised approach to learning ensures that every pupil is taught how to develop their communication skills and interact with one another so that, for example, pupils on the autistic spectrum thrive in equal measure to other pupils.

Whole school and departmental assemblies provide an opportunity to share and celebrate the success of individual pupils.

A lot of dedicated people are needed to make a school function in the best possible way. This page provides details of some of the organisations and bodies that support the school management in the continuous development of KTS Academy.

The Learning Disability Child Adolescent Mental Health Service ( LD CAMHS) provides support for children and young people up to the age of 18 years and their families, where the child or young person is experiencing significant mental health problems or complex needs, in addition to their learning disability. The Community Team provides specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people with a learning disability, for a range of complex problems, where universal services are not able to meet the child or young person's needs.

School Organisations

Student Council

Our thriving student council comprises pupil representatives from across the school and encourages pupils to believe that, by voicing their ideas and opinions, they can make a difference and bring about change. The opportunity to raise funds for charities, as well as the chance to engage with local schools, community groups and residential homes in a wide range of activities, also encourages a sense of belonging and strengthens pupils' confidence and self-esteem.
