As pupils move through the school, numeracy and literacy lessons are taught alongside a topic based creative curriculum, which is broad and balanced and adapted to meet their individual needs. This also includes a wide range of educational visits. The 14-19 provision, which is housed in separate buildings away from the main site, aims to develop mature and positive attitudes to learning that equip students with the skills they need for life after school. As well as accredited qualifications, the curriculum encourages students to think and act independently and to take responsibility for their own actions. A varied, engaging and challenging curriculum aims to nurture the social, academic and emotional development of all pupils. Whole school and departmental assemblies provide an opportunity to share and celebrate the success of individual pupils.
