Thrive is a dynamic, developmental approach to working with children that supports their emotional and social wellbeing. It is based on the latest research in neuroscience, attachment theory and child development, particularly focusing on the role of creativity and play in developing emotional resilience. In our Academy, we have 7 licenced Thrive practitioners (2 members of SLT, 4 teachers and a HLTA). These practitioners use Thrive Online assessment tool to assess some of our pupils and develop Thrive Plans for them to work on. These plans have a focus on creative activities to support pupil’s emotional development.
We have a specialist Thrive Room, as well as Thrive areas in KTS 3 and KTS +. In addition to this, all of our staff have had basic Thrive training and we embrace a whole-school Thrive approach when supporting pupil’s behaviour.
