Upper School

Upper School at KTS Academy caters for students who are predominantly in Key Stage 3 and above. There are 9 class groups of differing needs with specialist classes for communication, sensory and physical difficulties and disabilities.

Upper School is divided into KTS3 and KTS+ departments:

KTS3 is located within an independent building on the main site of the school at Marshall Drive, which is being refurbished and developed to meet the needs of the students educated within it. There are 6 classes with students ranging from 10 to 18 years of age with a range of needs including ASC, PMLD, SLD, SEMH and MLD.

KTS+ is located away from the main site on St Margaret’s Way with 3 classes of students ageing from 14 to 19 years of age. Students at KTS+ follow the post 6 study programme and are all working towards accreditation in Independent Living and Functional Skills at Entry Level. All students at KTS+ take part in regular work placements.
