What to do if you are worried about a child


Keeping children safe is everyone's responsibility. We can all play a vital role in helping to protect children from abuse. The South Tees Safeguarding Children Partnership oversees the work done to protect children in Redcar and Cleveland.

The Redcar and Cleveland Multi-Agency Children's Hub (MACH)

The MACH is a partnership between Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Cleveland Police and Health Partners. 

The MACH Team are available: 

  • Monday to Thursday from 8:30am to 5:00pm 
  • Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. 

What to do if you have concerns about an adult who works with children or young people


The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) is based in the MACH Team. If you have concerns about an adult who works with children you can contact the Redcar & Cleveland Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on 01642 130700 or email
